Once every few decades, a book like this can be created. An original Czech book with a great goal: to acquaint readers with the history of Europe in a clear, understandable, but above all, readable form. The book covers all the essentials while avoiding overwhelming the reader with incomprehensible terms and dates. With its help, even small children can perceive learning history as an amazing adventure.

The extensive and impressive illustrations leave an indelible impression. In comic-like bubbles, children can read simple messages. Older children will appreciate that historical events are presented here as lively stories. The division into 70 chapters and the timeline below the illustrations help them connect the book's content with the material studied in school. Students will complement their general overview and better understand the chronological, geographical, and ideological contexts in the mighty flow of European history. For adults, this book is an opportunity to break free from a simplified view of history that, whether we like to admit it or not, deeply penetrated our perception as a consequence of unfree education from the era of totalitarianism. For families, teachers, and entire classes, it can be an inspiration for discussions about the broader meaning and significance of history. And everyone, without exception, can enjoy the book as a unique object worth having close by.
